As a convenience, EndNote provides contextual (shortcut) menus for some of the most commonly used features. ContextualShortcut menus appear when you hold down the Control key and click right-click on something in the EndNote program (such as a reference, a group name, or an Author field).
The contents of the menu depend on where you click and what options are available for that particular item. Only a subset of possible commands are displayed. These are intended to represent the most commonly used functions for the selected target. Choosing a command from a contextualshortcut menu has exactly the same result as choosing the command from the main menu or the toolbar.
A contextualshortcut menu appears wherever you click. It remains open until you choose a command from the list, click elsewhere, or press Esc.
Contextual Shortcut menus are available in at least the following areas: the toolbar, the Reference window, the reference list in the Library window, the Groups panel in the Library window, term lists, and Managers (styles, filters, and connections).
